Our Expertise

SeeD’s work connects evidence with participation, design, testing and practical deployment. This helps us discover what matters, design what works, and scale what lasts.

Our 4D Approach

SeeD's 4D Approach — Discovery, Deliberation, Demonstration, Deployment — is our evidence-to-action operating model. 4D is iterative rather than linear. It connects rigorous diagnosis with participatory sense-making, intervention design, testing, learning and responsible scale-up. It underpins all of SeeD’s tools and solutions, offering a responsible and smart way to move from diagnosis to action while preserving the evidence, local knowledge, and learning needed to make peace and development initiatives effective.

Discovery

We combine quantitative and qualitative research, existing evidence and participatory calibration to understand context, identify risks and resilience capacities, and investigate the factors driving priority outcomes. The objective is not simply to describe a problem, but to understand what is shaping it and where meaningful change may be possible.

Deliberation

We bring research findings into structured deliberation with partners, practitioners and communities, combining empirical evidence with lived experience and institutional knowledge. Participatory methods (e.g. SDDPs) help identify priorities, examine trade-offs and translate evidence into feasible TOCs and intervention options.

Demonstration

We co-design interventions, protocols, tools and pilots that can be implemented, tested and refined. Using appropriate evaluation methods, from mixed-method and pre-/post-assessments to quasi-experimental designs and randomised controlled trials, we assess what is working, why, and how it can be optimised.

Deployment

We support adaptation and scaling of approaches that demonstrate value across new populations, institutions and contexts while preserving the components that make them effective. Implementation support, capacity transfer, accompaniment and monitoring ensure that scale strengthens impact without compromising quality or relevance.

Our Approach in Action

Our modular approach allows partners to engage with individual service lines or combine them across the 4D cycle, creating a flexible and complementary pathway from evidence to action — and from action back to evidence.
